Spring is the perfect time to declutter and organize. That’s why we decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather and host a company-wide garage sale in May!
Securus employees and their families were invited to take part in the sale, and the turnout was a success, with more than half of our team participating. This event provided a great opportunity for our employees and their families to declutter, socialize, and find new homes for old treasures.
The garage sale was more than just a way to clear out space; it was also a fantastic team-building opportunity. We set up tables and shared past garage sale stories, both the good and the bad. During the sale, a few items even ended up being traded between Securus team members – so much for decluttering! A scooter was brought in for the sale, and several Securus members were spotted taking rides around the parking lot throughout the day.
The sale coincided with what felt like the hottest day of the year – it was scorching! Sunscreen was in high demand, and otter pops were passed around. Fortunately, a few of our team members brought in tent canopies, providing much-needed shade for everyone.
Overall, it was a successful day, and we were fortunate to attract plenty of business. The sale required a lot of work and organization, but the effort was well worth it. We’re now excited about the possibility of making this an annual event.
Employees also had the opportunity to give back to the community. Unsold items were donated to Habitat for Humanity, a wonderful organization that does so much for our local area.
Being out of the office for part of the day was a refreshing change of pace. Don’t worry, we still kept some engineers inside ready to save the day. But overall, our first company-wide garage sale was a definite success. We were able to declutter and contribute to a good cause. Keep an eye out on our social channels for more Securus updates.
