Securus had an incredible time attending the 2025 WHCA (Washington Health Care Association) Conference in Spokane, Washington. Conferences like this are always a highlight for our team because they give us the chance to connect with industry peers, see familiar faces, and share our expertise with new audiences.
We were thrilled to host two engaging presentations:
#1: Healthcare Cybersecurity Trivia
Our fan-favorite trivia session was a hit. Guests joined us for a high-energy, brain-boosting event that put their cybersecurity smarts to the test, healthcare edition!
One of the standout rounds was “Phishing or Legit,” where players were asked to determine whether an email was authentic or a phishing attempt. Turns out, spotting a phishing email can be trickier than you’d think.
Attendees walked away with a deeper understanding of the role cybersecurity plays in healthcare.
The lucky trivia winner took home the grand prize of a $100 Amazon gift card!
#2: Click, Click, Boom! Cybersecurity Mistakes That Seem Harmless
In this fast-paced, lighthearted session, we uncovered the everyday mistakes that seem harmless but can lead to massive data breaches. We shared relatable examples and eye-opening stories to teach how even small errors can have big impacts. We discussed practical tips that can immediately be employed to strengthen cybersecurity.
A key takeaway is the importance of building a strong security culture in the workplace. When staff are educated in cybersecurity, they become the first line of defense against cyber threats.
Our goal was to empower attendees with tools they could immediately put into action.
Of course, the conference wasn’t all business! Our team also enjoyed a memorable 1980s themed murder mystery dinner arranged by the WHCA organizers, where we stepped into character and solved clues. To top it off, one of our own team members won the challenge!
Overall, the conference was such a rewarding experience. We left Spokane feeling inspired and connected to the community we serve.
